About Me

Ashley James

My ceramic work is influenced by an interest in the natural world, a love of farm life and the surrounding countryside. I strive hard to capture something quirky and unique in each piece I create, and I hope my work captures my personality. All my pieces are made with stoneware clay, coloured with oxides, underglaze stains and polymers on the clay surface, I occasionally use galvanised steel wire for a contemporary feel.

Freelance graphic designer with over 30 years of experience helping local authorities, companies and charities to promote themselves effectively. Services: branding, logos, flyers, leaflets, posters, brochures, adverts, business cards, stationery, displays, signage and digital illustration.

My work has been exhibited at Southampton Art Gallery, St Barbe Museum & Art Gallery, Mottisfont (National Trust), Sherfield School, The Grange, Northington (English Heritage), Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Christines Art House and the Oxmarket Gallery Chichester.
